Hi I opened my sui wallet today and checked on my staked sui and i noted two suspicious staked amounts on the top of the page, this is a scam but its scary to think how easily someone could have been scammed inside the official sui wallet. Only reason i caught it was because the info was inaccurate. Has anyone seen this before or is sui team aware of this type of scam.
This is incredibly unsafe, it seems the scammers are able to trigger the message from sui wallet saying to “unstake sui from inactive validators”. I’m sure once I do that, all my funds will be drained.
I have the majority of my sui staked, I’m afraid to touch anything at the moment, is it still safe to unstake the sui on the other (real) validators?
Sui wallet team really needs to test the app and be more vigilant against these new scamming techniques. If this was web 2, it would be akin to XSS. I’m a big supporter of sui but I’ve never had this issue before with phantom or metamask even when they were relatively new apps.
Hey there, can you please provide the wallet address associated with that screenshot? Feel free to toss it to me in DM if you don’t want to share it publicly.
I reviewed this case with the Mysten Labs team and we have concluded that it is a visual bug within the wallet. One of the six validators that you are staking to has gone inactive and is no longer earning rewards. For some reason, this information is not being displayed to you properly. A pull request has been submitted by our team and a fix will be deployed in the near future.
You can rest easy knowing there is no ongoing scam or attack on your wallet, but always stay vigilant!
I’ve also deleted your post with your wallet address as requested.
Hi, thank you for replying so quickly, I am really glad to hear that this is a bug and not a scam at work, thanks for looking into this!
Hi, the error message is gone but now I can’t unstake my sui for the inactive validator. It just shows it as staked without validator:
When I try to unstake, it shows a blank screen
