Yesterday i accidentally clicked on a link from an impersonating account for NS (they even had a yellow/gold badge on X!) and thought i would receive an NS token pre drop but what i didn’t see was that they took an amount of AAA from me so now i’ve lost it.
Im wondering now, should i create a new passphrase wallet instead of having my Gmail account connected to it? Even if i transfer my funds to my new wallet, are they still infected? Talked to someone on Reddit saying i should “validate” my wallet, is that true?
Also, it’s not possible getting the money back is it, i can see who has it.
Without seeing the scam its self, it is hard to determine an answer to your question. I can offer some general advice, but without knowing exactly what you did, what I’m saying is not for certain.
Generally these scams are designed where you accept a malicious transaction that approves an outflow of funds from your account, it does not give the attacker access to your wallet or the ability to inflict damage outside of that transaction.
If you typed your mnemonic phrase or private key into any forms, then it’s possible the attacker has elevated access to your wallet and the risk of additional damage being inflicted is real.
Sui is a permissionless, decentralized network. Nobody, not the Sui Foundation, not Mysten Labs, not any of the validators, have the ability to revert transactions or claim funds from other wallets. Unfortunately there is nothing that can be done for asset recovery.
