# Access Validator Stake Data

Hi,  
Is there a way to determine the Total SUI staked for a given validator?

I have been experimenting with the `suix_getStakes` RPC method but I’m not sure how to interpret those results.

The numbers do not correspond to the “Total Sui Staked” as shown on the explorer (for example: [Sui Explorer](https://suiexplorer.com/validator/0x0c1bebfe4c2258f16282f3ab186151c91f4349c5b2956e831a8f670a71709b90)).

Ideally, I’d like to get total SUI staked for a given validator, broken down by validator and delegator stake.

How does the Sui explorer get this data?

I think the thing your looking for is under this endpoint `suix_getlatestsuisystemstate`

`result.activeValidators[*].stakingPoolSuiBalance`
